Atletico de Coléah, the vice-champion football club in Guinea, is facing a challenging period, leading to the dismissal of their coach, Loucény Camara “Mourinho.” The decision was attributed to perceived insufficient results, despite his contract having two more years.
Confirming his dismissal, Mourinho stated, “Indeed, I was let go today because of the defeat conceded on Saturday against AS Kaloum in the eighth day of Ligue 1. They notified me verbally at the end of the meeting of club leaders. I think the effect will be followed by a letter of thanks.”
Atletico suffered a 1-0 defeat against AS Kaloum, and discontent with the team’s performances had been growing. The club currently sits in the tenth position in Ligue 1, with only five points from eight games, including one victory, two draws, and five defeats.
Mourinho, who signed a two-season contract last October, expressed that efforts were made to keep him until the end of the first legs of Ligue 1, but the separation will be amicable.
Atletico had high expectations after being narrowly defeated in the previous National Football Cup final. However, their recent struggles have prompted changes, including the dismissal of Mourinho and the pursuit of reforms to revive the club.
