Raymond Domenech is reportedly in serious consideration for the coaching position in Equatorial Guinea. The national team is seeking a new coach to replace Gilson Paulo. According to a senior official from the federation, the new coach should be a renowned European who has played more than fifty matches with his team and led his country at the last World Cup. Raymond Domenech fits this description, having coached the French national team and led them to the 2006 World Cup final. The new coach will face the challenge of qualifying Equatorial Guinea for the 2014 World Cup, as the team is currently last in its group with just one point. The official mentioned that the new coach is expected to arrive in Malabo in around ten days.
