With the replacement goalkeeper Johnny Placide conceding six goals in four matches, Xavier Henneuse, the Reims goalkeeper coach, expressed dissatisfaction with the performance. Henneuse acknowledged Agassa’s essential role in the team and stated, “Kossi is an essential pawn on the Reims chessboard, we are not going to hide it. But behind us, we have boys who work and who respond.”
At 35 years old, Agassa Kossi is recognized as one of the top five goalkeepers in Ligue 1, trailing behind Sirigu, Carrasso, and Ruffier. Having kept a clean sheet five times in 19 matches, Agassa is expected to be back in action this Sunday against Saint-Etienne in a match on the 25th day of Ligue 1.
