Kaba Diawara, a young retiree and Canal Plus consultant, expressed his disappointment at the elimination of the Ivory Coast national football team, known as the Elephants, in the quarter-finals of the 2013 African Cup of Nations (CAN). Diawara mentioned that he had hoped for a better performance from Ivory Coast and expressed regret that star player Didier Drogba could not win a CAN title. Diawara speculated that Drogba’s return from China might have affected his form, and he commented on the coach’s decision to play him, considering it might be his last CAN.
