Ryad Boudebouz expressed his disappointment with the performance of the Algerian national team in the CAN 2013, stating that the team, comprised mostly of young players, needs time to mature and gain experience at the international level. Despite the difficulties faced in the tournament, he believes in the talent within the Algerian squad and emphasizes the importance of learning from the high-level matches.
According to Boudebouz, the team lacked the killer instinct in the attacking zone and needs to focus on defensive rigor to compete with stronger teams. He acknowledges that, at the moment, Algeria is not considered a favorite for the CAN, but he sees the current phase as part of the team’s growth process. He believes that through the experience gained and learning from failures, the team will become more solid and eventually build a strong foundation for future competitions, including World Cup qualifiers.
