Wilfried Singo has returned to the AS Monaco squad after recovering from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for several weeks.
The Ivorian defender, who has been out since his standout performance against Aston Villa in the Champions League on January 21, is now in contention for a place in the crucial second-leg play-off against Benfica next Tuesday.
Monaco Coach Confirms Singo’s Availability
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, February 14, Monaco head coach Adi Hütter confirmed that Singo is fit for the upcoming European fixture, though his participation in Saturday’s Ligue 1 match against Nantes remains uncertain.
“Singo is back in the squad. Even if I have doubts about whether he will be ready against Nantes, he could be ready on Tuesday in Lisbon,” Hütter stated.
A Timely Boost for Monaco’s Struggling Campaign
Monaco has endured a difficult run in the Champions League, suffering back-to-back defeats.
With a 1-0 deficit from the first leg against Benfica, Singo’s return provides much-needed reinforcement in defense as the team looks to overturn the result.
His comeback offers fresh hope for the French side, which must produce a strong performance in Lisbon to keep their European ambitions alive.
