Taiwo Awoniyi was on target as Nottingham Forest edged past Exeter City in the FA Cup fourth round, winning 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw on Tuesday evening.
Awoniyi put Forest ahead in the 37th minute after Josh Magennis had opened the scoring for Exeter, with Ramon Sosa netting the equaliser.
Despite Exeter going down to ten men late on, they forced extra time before Forest sealed victory in the shootout.
Nigerian international Ola Aina was not included in the squad, while Awoniyi’s contribution helped Forest book their place in the fifth round.
