RACHID TAOUSSI: MOROCCO ELIMINATED, BUT A “POSITIVE RESULT NONETHELESS!

Rachid Taoussi, the coach of Morocco’s national football team, expressed a mix of disappointment and pride following the team’s draw against South Africa in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2013, which ultimately led to their elimination from the tournament. Despite not advancing, Taoussi focused on the positive aspects of Morocco’s performance and the progress the team has made under his guidance.

He acknowledged the disappointment of the result but emphasized that the team fought with dignity and honor. Taoussi expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of the team, especially considering the circumstances of his recent appointment as coach and the limited time for preparation.

Taoussi highlighted the positive results, stating that the team has not lost any official matches during his tenure. He also mentioned the youth and potential within the squad, indicating that the national team will continue to develop and prepare for future competitions, particularly the World Cup qualifiers.

Looking ahead, Taoussi mentioned the long-term goal of preparing for the African Cup of Nations in Morocco in 2015, indicating a commitment to building a competitive team for future tournaments. Overall, despite the disappointment of not progressing in the CAN, Taoussi seems optimistic about the future and the potential of the Moroccan national team.
