Nigerian forward Jerome Akor Adams marked his debut for Sevilla in a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Getafe in La Liga on Saturday.
The Rojiblancos travelled to the Estadio Coliseum, where they held their hosts to a stalemate. Adams was featured off the bench in his first appearance since joining from French side Montpellier.
The Nigerian was introduced as a substitute, while his compatriot Chidera Ejuke also came on in the 71st minute, replacing Rubén Vargas. Ejuke, who has made 11 league appearances under manager García Pimienta this season, has found the net just once so far.
Meanwhile, Kelechi Iheanacho was absent from Sevilla’s squad, as the club remains open to offers for his transfer. The Nigerian forward has made nine league appearances for the former UEFA Europa League winners.
Sevilla, currently enjoying a solid run of form, have now gone four consecutive league games without defeat. Their longest winning streak in recent times spanned five matches between March 30 and May 5, 2024.
