Saudi Pro League: Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou wins Player of the Month in January

Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou has been awarded the Saudi Pro League Player of the Month for January, recognizing his outstanding performances for Al-Hilal.

Since joining the Saudi giants from Sevilla, the 32-year-old has been a game-changer between the posts.

This season, Bounou has kept eight clean sheets in 24 appearances across all competitions, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s top shot-stoppers.

His consistency has earned him multiple individual accolades. He was previously named Best Goalkeeper of the Month in October and November 2023, as well as February 2024.

Moreover, his stellar performances throughout the 2023-24 season saw him claim the Best Goalkeeper of the Season award after registering 15 clean sheets and conceding just 20 goals in 31 matches.

Bounou’s brilliance was key to Al-Hilal’s title-winning campaign, playing a crucial role in their Saudi Pro League triumph.

His heroics also helped the team secure the King’s Cup and the Saudi Super Cup, adding more silverware to an already impressive season.
