Red Star suffered their third consecutive defeat in Ligue 2, falling 2-1 to table-toppers Lorient on matchday 21.
Despite Senegalese forward Aliou Badji finding the net, his side struggled to match the intensity of their opponents and remain in the relegation zone.
Lorient dominated large spells of the game and took the lead through Kroupi before Avom Ebong doubled their advantage.
Red Star, struggling to gain a foothold, managed to pull a goal back through Badji.
The Senegalese striker capitalized on a rebound after Ifnaoui’s shot struck the post, slotting the ball into an empty net to register his seventh goal of the season.
However, his effort proved insufficient as Red Star failed to mount a comeback.
The defeat leaves the club in 16th place, now in the thick of the relegation battle.
With pressure mounting, Red Star must find a way to turn their form around quickly to avoid dropping further down the standings.
