The German-Ghanaian winger provided an early spark, registering an assist in the ninth minute when Ísak Bergmann Jóhannesson drilled home a low strike from outside the box.
Ulm quickly responded through Aaron Keller, but Kwarteng remained lively and was instrumental again in the 15th minute, setting up Dawid Kownacki’s precise finish to restore Düsseldorf’s lead.
