Olympique Marseille have reinforced their attacking options with the signing of Rennes winger Amine Gouiri.

The 24-year-old Algeria international has committed to a four-and-a-half-year contract with Les Phocéens, completing a move worth up to €22 million, including €3 million in performance-related add-ons.

Gouiri, a product of Olympique Lyonnais’ academy, completed his medical on Friday and will don the No. 9 jersey for Marseille. He becomes the club’s second winter signing, following the arrival of centre-back Luiz Felipe.

Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi is eager to integrate Gouiri into his squad. Speaking in a press conference, he highlighted the forward’s versatility and potential impact.

Gouiri struggled for a consistent starting role at Rennes, particularly under former head coach Jorge Sampaoli. During his time with Les Rouge et Noir, he registered 31 goals and 12 assists in 103 appearances. Rennes had previously made him their record signing in 2022, acquiring him from Nice in a €28 million transfer. Now, he looks to reignite his career at the Vélodrome.
