Locked in: Chrislain Matsima commits to FC Augsburg until 2029
FC Augsburg has made it official—Chrislain Matsima is here to stay.
The German club has exercised the purchase option for the talented central defender, securing his services from AS Monaco until 2029.
Matsima, who initially joined Augsburg on loan, has impressed with his composure, physicality, and tactical awareness. His performances convinced the club’s hierarchy to make the move permanent, reinforcing their defensive setup for the long run.
FCA sporting director Marinko Jurendić praised Matsima’s progress, highlighting his defensive skills and intelligence on the pitch. “Chrislain has developed very well in the FCA in recent months. In his missions, he convinced in particular with a duel strength and game intelligence. Chrislain is an ambitious player with great potential, the development of which we want to continue to support at the FCA, which is why it was consequently to pull the purchase option for us.”
