The African Clubs Association (ACA) has officially designated Morocco as the location for its headquarters. The announcement was made by the ACA President, Tanzanian Hersi Said, during a visit to Casablanca by a 12-member delegation from the association’s board of directors.
Speaking to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation channel, Said highlighted the significance of the decision, describing it as a milestone for African football.
“We are proud to sign the headquarters hosting agreement with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. This is a great achievement that enhances Morocco’s position on the continent,” he stated.
The ACA was established at the initiative of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), with the backing of its Executive Council, to unify clubs across the continent and foster greater collaboration.
Said emphasized that the association’s board comprises representatives from the six major regions of Africa, ensuring comprehensive representation.
Morocco’s selection as the ACA headquarters followed a competitive process involving bids from several other nations.
Said commended Morocco for presenting an exceptional proposal, showcasing its capacity to support the association’s operations and goals effectively.
“The choice of Morocco reflects the great confidence in its ability to contribute to the growth of African football,” Said noted.
He also stressed that this move would promote collaboration among the continent’s clubs and serve as a launchpad for initiatives aimed at advancing the sport across Africa.
The decision underscores Morocco’s growing influence in African football, building on its reputation as a reliable host for major events and a strong supporter of development initiatives.
With the ACA set to begin its work from Morocco, stakeholders across the continent will look forward to innovative projects and enhanced cooperation aimed at elevating the status of African football on the global stage.
