Elias Saad’s much-anticipated return to action for FC St. Pauli is set to take place this Sunday against FC Union Berlin.
After a lengthy spell on the sidelines, the 25-year-old winger will make his comeback as part of the matchday squad but will begin the game on the bench.
Head coach Alexander Blessin expressed his excitement during the pre-match press conference: “Elias will come back, and I’m really looking forward to it.” The coach emphasized a cautious approach to Saad’s reintegration, gradually building his readiness through training. “He really accelerated. You had to curb him from time to time, but now I have a good feeling to let him go,” Blessin added.
While Saad is not slated to start, Blessin hinted at the impact the winger could make off the bench. “He will not play from the start. But he has a good chance to get in. He can be a crucial player,” the coach remarked.
If Saad performs well, a starting role could soon follow, marking a new chapter in his comeback journey.
