Pep Guardiola has announced that newly signed Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush will be included in Manchester City’s squad for their Premier League fixture against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

The 25-year-old joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday following a sensational run of form in Germany, where he notched 20 goals and 14 assists in 26 matches across all competitions this season.

Marmoush’s arrival has generated significant anticipation, with Guardiola hinting at a potential debut in the high-stakes clash against Chelsea.

“Marmoush, I think he will adapt quickly,” Guardiola said during his pre-match press conference.

“[He] will make us strong, and I’m pretty sure that the club decided on this player for the future and many years.”

The Manchester City boss acknowledged that the forward has had limited time to train with his new teammates due to travel schedules.

We didn’t train much because we travelled.

Omar Marmoush had his first training session yesterday,” Guardiola explained.

Guardiola also outlined the reasoning behind Marmoush’s acquisition, emphasizing the player’s immense potential.

The reason why was the potential. We thought he is a potential future star for many years with incredible quality in the final third, and that is why we did it,” he added.

City heads into the match sitting fifth in the Premier League table, trailing fourth-placed Chelsea by two points.

The fixture will be crucial for Guardiola’s side, who are eager to regain momentum following a disappointing 4-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League earlier this week.

The Egyptian forward is also expected to be available for City’s upcoming Champions League clash against Club Brugge, a must-win encounter as they aim to secure qualification from the group stage.

With Marmoush’s impressive track record and Guardiola’s confidence in his abilities, City fans will be hoping the new signing can make an immediate impact as the team navigates a pivotal stretch of the season.
