Andy Delort’s future at MC Alger has been firmly decided, with the Algerian club rejecting Montpellier’s approach to sign the striker, despite ongoing speculation surrounding his departure.
Montpellier had expressed interest in bringing Delort back to France, where the striker began his career in his hometown of Sète.
However, MC Alger, where Delort is currently playing, has made it clear that the player will not be allowed to leave, putting an end to weeks of rumors and discussions.
Delort, who will be out of contract at the end of the season, had attracted attention after reports surfaced of a possible offer from Montpellier.
Although initially hinting at a potential move, MC Alger president Hadj Redjem quickly reversed course, reaffirming that Delort would remain with the club for the time being.
“Andy Delort is with us,” Redjem stated to the media outlet Compétition.
The offer from Montpellier, which was reportedly for a loan move, had seemed to be a serious consideration. However, despite the ongoing talks, MC Alger’s decision to retain their star striker is now clear.
elort will remain with the Algerian club through the remainder of the season, with his future uncertain until his contract expires.
