Nigeria has received a major squad boost ahead of the second leg of their tie against Ghana in the qualifiers for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament.
Five players including Samuel Ayanrinde (Shooting Stars), Sunday Megwo (Abia Warriors), Enugu Rangers midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye, Vincent Temitope from Plateau United and Badmus Gbadamosi of Kwara United have joined coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s squad.
This comes after the coach travelled with 18 players to Ghana for the first leg of the tie last weekend.
The first leg saw both Ghana and Nigeria fighting for victory but neither side scored and had to settle for a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team started preparation for the reverse fixture in Uyo on Tuesday.
The second leg will be held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday, December 28.
Both Nigeria and Ghana will be keen to fight for a win to secure a ticket to feature at the next CHAN tournament.
