The President of the Guinea Football Federation (Feguifoot), Bouba Sampil, has reportedly been taken into police custody.
This development has been disclosed by investigative journalist Abdou Latif Diallo.
According to reports, Bouba Sampil’s arrest stems from a complaint lodged by businessman Tahirou Barry over an unpaid debt.
The case involves an alleged unreimbursed credit for the purchase of a luxury car, valued between $60,000 and $90,000, which was reportedly intended as a gift for Sampil’s wife.
Authorities apprehended the football executive on Thursday afternoon as he was en route to the Prime Minister’s office.
The specifics of the complaint and the circumstances surrounding the financial dispute remain under investigation.
Bouba Sampil’s arrest comes at a critical time for Guinea’s football administration, potentially raising questions about governance within the Guinea Football Federation.
Further developments are expected as the case unfolds.
