Danish-born Ghanaian midfielder Noah Nartey delivered a stellar performance as Brøndby IF triumphed 4-2 against AGF in the DBU Pokalen quarter-final second leg, sealing a 4-3 aggregate victory.
The game began with Brøndby seizing control early, as Daniel Wass coolly converted a penalty in the 11th minute. Mathias Kvistgaarden doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark, finishing off Nicolai Vallys’ assist. The hosts extended their lead further in the second half when Vallys turned scorer, thanks to an inch-perfect setup by Nartey in the 57th minute.
Nartey capped his influential display with a goal of his own in the 77th minute, slotting home Clement Bischoff’s pass to make it 4-0. AGF mounted a late fightback as Patrick Mortensen and Mikkel Duelund scored in the 80th and 85th minutes, but their efforts fell short.
With this victory, Brøndby IF move into the semi-finals and shift focus to their Superligaen clash against Viborg on February 16th.
