The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Morocco as the official host for the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
This decision was announced during a CAF Executive Office meeting in Marrakech on December 16, 2024, coinciding with the lead-up to the 2024 CAF Awards ceremony.
The tournament will feature twelve teams, with eight teams having already secured their spots through qualifying matches held across the various CAF Zones. Four spots are still up for grabs.
The opening match is scheduled for March 30, 2025, with the final set for April 19, 2025.
Notably, this edition will also act as the African qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, with semi-finalists automatically earning a place in the global competition.
Morocco’s selection as host underscores its growing reputation as a premier sports destination, especially following its co-hosting role in the upcoming 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
The country’s infrastructure and commitment to sporting events have been pivotal in securing this prestigious tournament.
Morocco will also host the 2025 main Africa Cup of Nations in December and January.
