Youssef En-Nesyri delivered a stunning late performance for Fenerbahçe, scoring twice in the final stages to secure a 3-1 victory over Başakşehir on Sunday in Istanbul during the 16th round of the Turkish Süper Lig.
The Bosnian striker Edin Džeko gave Fenerbahçe the lead just before halftime, finding the net in the 41st minute.
However, Başakşehir responded in the second half, as Polish forward Krzysztof Piątek leveled the score in the 59th minute, putting pressure on the home side.
Moroccan international En-Nesyri entered the match in the 63rd minute as a substitute for Sofyan Amrabat. It didn’t take long for him to make an impact.
In the 74th minute, he struck a crucial goal to restore Fenerbahçe’s advantage. The Moroccan forward then sealed the victory in the dying moments of the game, scoring his second goal in the 90th minute.
En-Nesyri’s decisive brace ensured Fenerbahçe maintained their strong form in the league and kept pressure on the table leaders.
The win allowed them to remain in second place with 35 points, while Başakşehir stayed in seventh position with 22 points.
