Nigeria and Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has discussed his positive relationship with manager Marco Silva and his impressive start to the Premier League season.
Currently, the Super Eagles star is Fulham’s joint-top scorer, netting five goals, which matches his best tally from last season.
In an interview with The Standard, Iwobi acknowledged his strong performance but expressed a desire to achieve even more.
“You could say it is my best start to the season – I just have to keep it going and make sure it’s my best season,” he stated.
Iwobi credited Silva for fostering an environment that encourages improvement.
He emphasized the importance of confidence, saying, “If I do make a mistake, I can go again.” The team spirit is also vital, as he noted, “There are no egos. Everyone treats each other the same way.”
As Fulham prepares to face Liverpool this Saturday, Iwobi remains optimistic, stating, “You never know in the Premier League – in any game, anything can happen.”
