Hani Abo Rida, the newly elected president of the Egyptian Football Association, expressed his gratitude and optimism following his list’s unanimous victory to lead the council for the next four years.
In his remarks, Abo Rida thanked the General Assembly for their unwavering trust and support, emphasizing his dedication to advancing Egyptian football.
“I would like to thank all the members of the Egyptian Football Association’s General Assembly for their support, trust, and the great love they have surrounded me with today and throughout my history with Egyptian football,” Abo Rida said.
“I promise them all to work with the new board of directors to develop Egyptian football and return it to leadership.”
Acknowledging the challenges ahead, Abo Rida pledged to spare no effort to restore Egypt’s position at the forefront of African and world football.
He credited the support of state agencies and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, for creating an environment conducive to success.
“We have the support and positive energy that we seek to enable us to restore Egypt’s natural position in the world of football, but we must all work together to achieve this,” he noted.
Abo Rida assured fans of an inclusive approach, emphasizing that the Football Association’s doors would remain open to everyone.
“The current council will strive to address the negatives that Egyptian football has suffered from recently with the help of everyone,” he concluded.
