Pitso Mosimane has earned widespread praise for steering Esteghlal FC closer to success in the Persian Gulf Pro League following a convincing 2-0 victory over Foolad FC on Saturday.
Goals from Raphael da Silva Arruda and Amirali Sadeghi secured the win for the team.
Mosimane’s tenure at Esteghlal began on a rocky note, with the club suffering three consecutive defeats. However, recent performances have seen a marked improvement, with two wins and two draws in their last four matches.
This resurgence has sparked optimism among fans about the club’s future under the South African manager.
Former Esteghlal player Edmond Akhtar shared his confidence in Mosimane’s leadership during an interview with Football 360.
“Esteghlal’s upward trend has been evident, and it was fully visible in last night’s game against Foolad,” he said.
“The team has undergone a complete transformation since before the Asian games, and Mosimane’s training camp has helped the team progress.
“Maybe Mosimane isn’t a big name in the world, but he has shown that he is a coach who spends time with his team and has a plan for working with young players.”
