Ghana forward Inaki Williams hits 80 La Liga goals

Ghana international Inaki Williams scored his 80th La Liga goal when Athletic Bilbao defeated Villarreal at the weekend.

The Black Stars forward lasted 85 minutes as his outfit cruised to a 2-0 win over Villarreal on Sunday.

Athletic Bilbao scored in either half to snatch victory over their opponent in the week 16 of the Spanish top-flight.

Spain international Aitor Paredes opened the scoring for the host after just 15 minutes at the Estadio San Mames as they went to the halftime break with the advantage.

In the second half, Inaki Williams registered his name on the scoresheet to cement victory for the home team in the thrilling clash.

It was his 80th La Liga goal in 358 appearances for Athletic Bilbao, who are currently fourth on the league standings.

This season, Inaki Williams has been instrumental for the Basque side, contributing four goals and four assists in 16 La Liga appearances.

The Spanish-born Ghanaian made recently celebrated his 10-year spell with Athletic Bilbao.

He made his Bilbao debut on December 6, 2014 and later signed his first professional contract in January 2015.

In his ten years at the Basque club, Williams has made 441 appearances, scoring 106 goals for the club. He is currently the 14th highest scorer in the history of Athletic Bilbao.
