In a dramatic twist in the ongoing extortion and kidnapping case involving Paul Pogba, the prosecution has called for severe penalties for the six defendants, including Pogba’s own brother, Mathias.
Prosecutors have requested that Mathias serve a three-year sentence, two years of which would be suspended, along with a €10,000 fine, the lightest of all demands. The potential sentence could be reduced further, with options like house arrest or an electronic bracelet.
Among the other defendants, Boubacar C. and Machikour K. face five-year sentences with significant suspended time, hefty fines, and a ten-year ban on carrying weapons. Similarly, Adama C. and Mamadou M. are facing five-year sentences with some suspended time, €20,000 fines, and a ten-year weapon ban. The harshest demand was for Roushdane K., who could be sentenced to eight years in prison, a €20,000 fine, and a decade-long weapon ban.
The defence teams for Mathias and Machikour have called for their clients’ acquittals, as the case continues to unfold.
