The transfer window is set to open from June 1 to June 10, allowing clubs participating in the upcoming Club World Cup to strengthen their squads, per reports.
FIFA has announced that the tournament will feature a new format with 32 teams competing from June 14 to July 14.
Al Ahly, Mamelodi Sundowns, Esperance and Wydad Club Athletic are the teams to represent Africa in the tournament.
Following a structure similar to the World Cup, the competition will consist of eight groups of four teams.
After the group stage, 16 teams will advance to the knockout rounds. This new transfer window aims to provide clubs with the opportunity to make necessary adjustments to their rosters before the tournament begins.
FIFA has also clarified that players will be restricted to representing only one team during the tournament, although they can play for up to three teams in the same season due to the timing of the event.
Concerns have been raised regarding the demanding schedule, as top clubs like Real Madrid could potentially play up to 71 matches this season, leading to worries about player fatigue and its impact on performance.
