Kalidou Koulibaly linked with Al Hilal exit

Senegalese defender, Kalidou Koulibaly could part ways with Al Hilal at the end of the 2024/25 season, just two years after joining the Saudi Pro League club from Chelsea.

Koulibaly, who signed a contract with Al Hilal until June 2026, has struggled to meet expectations since his move in July 2023.

It is understood that Al Hilal’s management is dissatisfied with his performances and may consider selling the former Napoli star during the upcoming winter transfer window.

His agent, Fali Ramadani, has reportedly explored options for Koulibaly’s return to Europe, including offering him to Juventus. However, the Italian giants are said to have declined, citing the defender’s age (33) and a noticeable decline in form over recent seasons.

A potential Koulibaly exit could have implications for other Al Hilal players, particularly Neymar. The Brazilian forward has been sidelined since suffering a serious knee injury during a World Cup qualifier between Uruguay and Brazil in October 2023. Neymar underwent surgery for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus and has been on a lengthy recovery journey.

With a reshaped lineup potentially on the horizon, Neymar might have an opportunity to reestablish himself in the squad when he returns to action.

Koulibaly’s uncertain future adds another layer of intrigue to Al Hilal’s plans as the club navigates its ambitions in the Saudi Pro League.
