Spain international of Ghanaian descent Nico Williams would prefer a move to the English Premier League should he decide to leave Athletic Bilbao.
Williams was a subject of interest for several top European clubs including Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain following his swashbuckling performance for club and country.
Despite an intense transfer speculations, the highly-rated winger opted to stay at Athletic Bilbao.
Reports emerging suggest the 22-year-old is “more open” to a Premier League move than ever before. Williams’ current contract with Athletic Bilbao will expire in the summer of 2027.
However, Athletic Bilbao could sanction a move for the talented winger if a fee around £46m is met by a club.
Premier League quartet of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all said to be interested in the Ghanaian youngster.
Manchester City midfielder and reigning Ballon d’Or winner Rodri revealed his admiration for Williams while naming his compatriot as a player he would like to take to the club.
It is unknown whether Rodri’s endorsement could propel Manchester City to sign Williams from Athletic Bilbao.
