Paul-José Mpoku has officially announced his departure from Incheon United, bringing an end to his time in South Korea following the club’s relegation to the second division.
The Congolese international attacking midfielder made the announcement via an emotional video posted on his Instagram on Tuesday.
“Thank you, Incheon, for the incredible two years. We’ve shared many ups and downs, but I’ll carry so many good memories with me. I look forward to seeing you back in K1 soon. Wishing you all the best for the future,” he shared.
Mpoku joined Incheon United in January 2023 after a period of unemployment, having previously played for notable clubs like Tottenham, Standard Liège, and Panathinaikos. Over his 63 appearances with Incheon, the 31-year-old contributed 6 goals and 5 assists. Despite the club’s relegation, Mpoku’s time in South Korea was marked by his significant contributions on the pitch.
Valued at 800,000 euros by Transfermarkt, the versatile midfielder will now seek new challenges as he prepares for the next chapter in his career.
