Senegal Football Federation to meet for Aliou Cissé's successor

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) is set to hold a crucial meeting next week to discuss the appointment of a new head coach for the national team. Following Aliou Cissé’s departure from the role, the FSF’s Executive Committee (Comex) will convene to evaluate potential candidates for the position.

According to sources, the meeting will take place in early December and will serve as a review of Senegal’s footballing achievements in 2024.

The country’s success at various levels, including victories by the U17, U20, and Beach Soccer national teams, will be a key point of discussion.

This assessment of past performances is expected to inform the FSF’s approach to future international competitions and the direction of the national team.

One of the most significant items on the agenda is the selection of the new coach for the Lions of Teranga.

The FSF is expected to consider the profile of the ideal candidate and review applications submitted for the role.

Among the applicants will be Pape Thiaw, the current interim coach, whose performance will also be assessed during the meeting.

Following the discussions, an emergency committee will be established to make the final decision regarding the next head coach.

This decision will then be presented to the Ministry of Sports, where Minister Khady Diène Gaye will have the final say on the appointment.

The outcome of this meeting is eagerly awaited, as Senegal looks to build on its recent successes and continue its strong presence in international football.
