Former Nigerian international Sylvanus Okpala has called on Victor Boniface to enhance his goal-scoring contribution for the Super Eagles. Despite his remarkable form in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, Boniface has struggled to replicate his club success on the international stage.
Speaking with Brila FM, Okpala emphasized the need for the striker to focus on his role as a center forward.
Osimhen scores when he plays, but when he isn’t there, Boniface doesn’t deliver.
He needs confidence and a reminder that scoring is his primary task,” Okpala stated.
He also advised Boniface to stay composed and consider assisting teammates if scoring opportunities prove elusive.
Scoring is vital, but he must remain calm.
Confidence will grow once he starts finding the net consistently,” he added, highlighting the contrast between playing for a club like Bayer Leverkusen and the national team.
The 63-year-old football veteran believes that patience, reassurance, and adjustments in mindset could help Boniface transition his Bundesliga brilliance to international success.
