The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has secured the services of Ahmed Aberkane, a rising defensive talent from FC Barcelona, for the Moroccan under-15 national team. The 14-year-old, who joined Barcelona’s youth ranks from Girona during the last summer transfer window, is set to participate in his first training camp with the team.
Aberkane, capable of playing as a left-back or central defender, is regarded as one of Barcelona’s standout youth prospects this season.
He has been called up for two friendly matches against Mexico and Spain, scheduled for November 25 and December 2.
This marks Aberkane’s debut involvement with Morocco’s national youth teams, highlighting the country’s proactive efforts in attracting dual-national players to strengthen its ranks.
The young defender’s addition is seen as a significant boost for the team’s defensive lineup.
The Moroccan federation continues its strategy of scouting and recruiting talented players from global football academies, and Aberkane’s inclusion reflects their success in broadening their talent pool for future competitions.
