Glasgow Rangers secured their 28th Scottish League Cup title in a closely contested final against Aberdeen at Hampden Park on Sunday, emerging victorious with a 1-0 scoreline. The triumph marks a significant achievement for Abdallah Sima, who celebrates his first trophy with the Light Blues.

In a determined effort to reclaim a title that had eluded them since 2011, Rangers faced a resilient Aberdeen side in a highly anticipated final at Hampden Park

. The match remained tightly contested, with both teams vying for control. It was in the final quarter of an hour that the breakthrough came, and Rangers seized the opportunity to etch their name in the annals of Scottish football history.

Abdallah Sima, making significant contributions throughout the match, played a pivotal role in the decisive moment. Borna Barišić, displaying exquisite skill on the left side, delivered a powerful cross into the box.

The recipient of the precise cross was none other than James Tavernier, the captain of the Light Blues. Tavernier controlled the ball masterfully and unleashed a powerful right-footed strike, finding the back of the net past Aberdeen’s goalkeeper Kelle Roos in the 76th minute.

The goal proved to be the decisive moment of the match, securing the Scottish League Cup for Rangers and reaffirming their status as the most successful team in the history of the competition with 28 titles.

For Abdallah Sima, the victory represents not only a collective triumph for Rangers but also a personal milestone as he adds a Scottish trophy to his accolades.

The young talent, who had previously made his mark with a goal in the quarter-final, now has a significant title to his name in his debut season with the Light Blues.

As the celebrations ensue, Rangers fans and football enthusiasts alike laud the team’s resilience and skill, acknowledging their remarkable journey to reclaim the Scottish League Cup after more than a decade.
