A representative for Wydad Casablanca has officially refuted claims that the club has been in talks to bring back former player Yahya Gibran, who is currently competing in the Kuwaiti League.
Rumors had circulated suggesting that Wydad was negotiating to secure Gibran’s return during the upcoming winter transfer window, sparking speculation among fans and media alike.
The club spokesperson clarified the situation in an exclusive statement to Kooora, saying, “Wydad has not negotiated with Gibran.
Our focus remains on completing the first leg of the Moroccan League with strong performances.”
He added, “Wydad has full confidence in its current roster.
The rumors being spread are causing unnecessary disruption within the team.”
The spokesperson further expressed surprise over speculation regarding head coach Mokoena’s potential dismissal and rumors that the club might hire experienced coach Faouzi Benzarti.
Currently, Wydad Casablanca holds the ninth position in the Moroccan league standings with 11 points, tied with local rival Raja Casablanca, who sit in 11th place.
Both teams have faced a challenging start to the season, heightening public interest in potential roster and leadership changes.
Despite the rumors, Wydad appears committed to stability, focusing on its present squad and aiming to end the season’s first half on a strong note.
