Kinnah Phiri has been dismissed from his position as the coach of the Malawi Flames, along with his entire staff, by the Malawi Football Federation. The decision came following the team’s recent poor performance, including a defeat against South Africa. Phiri, who had recently signed a new two-year contract, had previously led Malawi to qualify for the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola. The FAM is now tasked with finding a successor as World Cup qualifiers are set to resume in March 2013.
