Caf Awards

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Morocco will once again host the prestigious CAF Awards ceremony, marking the third consecutive year that the event will be held in the country.

The 2024 edition of the CAF Best Awards is set for December 16, 2024, although the final details regarding the exact location are yet to be confirmed.

This comes as no surprise, as Morocco has proven itself as a top destination for major African football events.

The 2023 ceremony, held in Marrakech, was a tremendous success, highlighted by Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen’s recognition as one of the top players.

This latest accolade for Morocco further cements the nation’s growing influence within African football.

With its recent high-profile bids, including the intention to host the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal, Morocco has positioned itself at the forefront of African sports.

The CAF Awards is expected to draw top football talents from across the continent, celebrating their achievements and contributions to the game.

It’s a moment of pride not just for the players and clubs but also for Moroccan sports organizers who continue to deliver world-class events.

Nimes midfielder Komlan Amewou is approaching the new Ligue 2 season with renewed optimism after a frustrating last campaign at the club. In an exclusive interview, the Togo international said he has a point to prove this term after struggling for game time under former coach Thierry Froger. “I feel good compared to last year when I played very little and the coach had very little confidence in me,” the 28-year-old told AfricaSoccer.com. “Today, I have all the cards in hand to prove my talent. It was up to me to show him and everyone else that I was better than that.” Amewou believes new manager Victor Zvunka, who returned

CSKA Moscow has emerged as a serious contender to sign Senegalese striker Philippe Keny, whose time with Istanbul Başakşehir is drawing to a close. With his contract set to expire in June 2025, the 25-year-old forward is now attracting interest from several clubs across Europe. Among those showing the strongest intent is Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow, which has reportedly initiated discussions with the player’s representatives in hopes of securing a deal ahead of the summer window. Keny, who joined Başakşehir three years ago, featured in 27 matches during the latest Süper Lig campaign, contributing four goals and six assists. Wydad Casablanca defender Jamal Harkass dismisses underdog tag ahead of Club World Cup clash

Wydad Casablanca defender Jamal Harkass has issued a defiant message ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, warning their high-profile group stage opponents not to underestimate the Moroccan champions. Drawn into a formidable group that includes Premier League giants Manchester City, Serie A stalwarts Juventus, and UAE powerhouse Al-Ain, Wydad Casablanca face a daunting task. Yet for Harkass, the stature of their opponents means little when it comes to the reality of matchday. “I respect all these clubs, which are renowned in their leagues and have top-level players, but it’s the details that make the difference in these kinds of matches,” said the Moroccan international. “We must therefore be
