Ivory Coast’s national football team is set to unveil its squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers next Monday, August 26, the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) confirmed on Wednesday. The list, prepared by head coach Emerse Faé, will determine the Elephants’ lineup for their crucial matches against Zambia on September 6 and Chad on September 10.

The Elephants, who are reigning African champions, will be looking to secure their spot in the next edition of the tournament, which is scheduled to be held in Morocco from December 25, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

Franck Kessié and his teammates will once again aim to showcase their prowess on the continental stage, having already established themselves as one of Africa’s most formidable footballing nations.

Ivory Coast’s qualifying campaign kicks off with a home fixture against Zambia’s Chipolopolo at the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké on September 6.

Zambia, known for their resilience, will be a challenging opponent as both teams vie for a strong start to the qualification process.

The Elephants will then travel to Yaoundé, Cameroon, to face Chad on September 10.

Due to the absence of a certified stadium in Chad, the match will be held in Cameroon, a neutral venue for the encounter.

The anticipation surrounding the release of the squad list has sparked excitement among fans, with expectations high for a strong selection of players.

Ivorian football supporters are eager to see which stars will be called up to represent the national team, particularly in key positions.

Franck Kessié, a pivotal figure in the midfield, is expected to lead the charge, alongside a blend of experienced veterans and emerging talents.

As Ivory Coast begins their journey toward AFCON 2025, the team will look to build on their previous successes and maintain their dominance on the African football scene.

With Morocco set to host the tournament, the Elephants will be aiming to qualify with ease and enter the competition as one of the favorites.

All eyes will be on Emerse Faé’s announcement on Monday, as the chosen squad will be crucial in the early stages of the qualification process.

The Elephants will need to be at their best to overcome the challenges posed by Zambia and Chad as they work towards securing their place in Morocco 2025.
