In his first interview as the new coach of Senegal, Alain Giresse expressed his enthusiasm for the role and outlined his objectives:
“The objective is always the same, that is to say to help the Senegal national team win and achieve results. We play football to reach the elite, that’s the goal after the work of setting it up.”
“I am happy to be in Dakar. The discussions with Senegalese leaders were long, intense and very fruitful. I’m coming to finalize my contract and see what needs to be done. So far, there are no sticking points on the contract, everything is going well, and we’re off to get serious.”
“We now have to make it happen and get to work. There is nothing more to discuss; we must put everything in writing.”
