Marseille increases bid for RC Lens’ Elye Wahi

Olympique de Marseille has intensified its pursuit of RC Lens forward Elye Wahi, submitting a second, significantly improved offer after their initial bid fell short. The French giants are determined to secure the services of the talented striker, who is reportedly eager to make the move to the Stade Vélodrome.

Marseille’s latest offer to Lens is a €22 million fee, supplemented by an additional €4 million in potential bonuses.

The proposal is structured as a paid loan deal with an automatic purchase obligation, a move designed to meet the financial expectations of RC Lens while aligning with Marseille’s budgetary constraints.

Elye Wahi, one of the most promising young talents in French football, has been on the radar of several top clubs following his impressive performances in Ligue 1.

The 21-year-old striker has attracted attention for his pace, technical skills, and ability to find the back of the net, making him a prime target in the ongoing transfer window.

Wahi’s interest in joining Marseille is well-documented, with sources close to the player indicating his strong desire to take the next step in his career by joining the southern French club.

The forward sees Marseille as the ideal platform to further develop his career and compete at a higher level, both domestically and in European competitions.

For Marseille, securing Wahi’s signature would be a significant coup as they seek to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.

The club is keen to add depth to their squad, particularly in the forward positions, as they aim to challenge for the Ligue 1 title and make a strong run in the UEFA Champions League.

However, the deal is far from done, with Lens yet to respond to Marseille’s latest offer.

The northern French club, which has seen Wahi become a crucial part of their attacking lineup, is likely to weigh the financial benefits against the sporting impact of losing such a key player.

Negotiations are expected to continue, with Marseille hopeful that their improved offer will be enough to sway Lens into agreeing to the transfer.

If the deal goes through, Wahi would join a list of high-profile signings made by Marseille in recent years as they look to re-establish themselves as a dominant force in French football.

As the transfer window edges closer to its conclusion, all eyes will be on the negotiations between Marseille and Lens, with Wahi’s future hanging in the balance.

The outcome of this transfer saga could have significant implications for both clubs as they prepare for the challenges of the upcoming season.
