After a challenging season that culminated in a ninth Algerian Cup victory, CR Belouizdad is setting its sights on strengthening its midfield. The club has identified Jacques Mbe of Étoile Sportive du Sahel as a primary target.

For the past four years, Jacques Mbe has been a key player for Étoile Sportive du Sahel, drawing the attention of CR Belouizdad.

The 25-year-old Cameroonian midfielder is reportedly in advanced negotiations with the Algerian club.

If the deal goes through, Mbe will be embarking on a new chapter in the Algerian championship this summer.

Mbe’s tenure at Étoile Sportive du Sahel has been marked by consistent performances. Since joining the club in October 2020, he has made 77 appearances in the Tunisian top flight.

His efforts contributed to the club’s triumph in the 2023 Ligue 1 championship, a title that had eluded them for seven years.

With one year remaining on his contract, Étoile Sportive du Sahel is open to negotiating his transfer, provided the offer from CR Belouizdad is compelling.

Adding a layer of complexity to the transfer talks, CR Belouizdad is currently without a head coach.

Brazilian manager Marcos Paquetá, whose contract expired on July 11, has declined to renew his tenure with the club.

This coaching void presents an additional challenge as the club seeks to integrate new talent like Mbe into its roster.

CR Belouizdad’s interest in Mbe underscores the club’s ambition to build a more formidable squad for the upcoming season.

The acquisition of a player of Mbe’s caliber is seen as a crucial step in enhancing their midfield strength.

His experience and success in Tunisia make him a valuable asset for CR Belouizdad as they aim to reclaim domestic glory and compete on the continental stage.

As the negotiations progress, CR Belouizdad fans eagerly await the potential signing of Jacques Mbe.

His addition could significantly boost the team’s midfield capabilities, providing the strength and experience needed for a successful campaign.

With the right leadership and strategic acquisitions, CR Belouizdad hopes to build on its recent cup success and achieve greater heights in Algerian football.
