Ivory Coast has allocated 450 million FCFA to support its athletes in their quest for medals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, set to take place from July 26 to August 11. Thirteen Ivorian athletes have qualified for the Games, and the government is committed to providing the necessary financial resources to enhance their medal prospects.

On June 14, Ivorian authorities disbursed the funds to the athletes, aiming to boost their preparation for the global event.

This financial backing comes on the heels of the country’s success at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where Ivory Coast secured a bronze medal.

The nation is now ambitiously targeting at least three medals in Paris.

The substantial funding will facilitate comprehensive training and preparation for the Ivorian athletes.

Among those representing the nation are Cissé Cheick Sallah Junior, a prominent Taekwondo competitor, and Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith, a celebrated track and field athlete.

Both athletes were ceremoniously handed the Ivorian flag by the Prime Minister, pledging to honor their country with their performances in Paris.

Prior to the Games, the Ivorian team will undergo intensive training at a camp in Tremblay, France, from July 12 to 23.

This preparatory phase is crucial as the athletes gear up to compete against 10,500 participants from 206 delegations across 329 events.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games promise to be a significant sporting spectacle, with athletes from around the world showcasing their skills and determination.

Cissé Cheick Sallah Junior and Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith, who have previously excelled on international platforms, are expected to be pivotal in Ivory Coast’s Olympic campaign.

Their commitment and the state’s support underscore the country’s dedication to achieving Olympic success.

As the athletes embark on their final preparations, the Ivorian public and sports enthusiasts will be eagerly anticipating their performances in Paris.

The government’s substantial financial investment highlights its resolve to provide the athletes with every possible advantage as they strive for Olympic glory.

The training camp in Tremblay will be a critical period for the athletes to fine-tune their skills and strategies.

This period of focused preparation is designed to ensure that they arrive in Paris in peak condition, ready to compete at the highest level.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are expected to be a landmark event, not just for the global sporting community, but also for Ivory Coast as it aims to elevate its presence on the Olympic stage.

With robust financial backing and dedicated athletes, the nation is poised to make a significant impact.
