Danny Shittu, the defender from Millwall (English D2), has officially declared himself unavailable for the CAN 2013. Despite being initially included in the list of 32 players for the Super Eagles’ preparation, Shittu sent a letter to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) announcing his withdrawal. The NFF is currently studying the situation, and no official statement has been made. The Millwall manager had previously stated that he would prevent Shittu from participating in the CAN. Shittu, 32, has made 14 appearances for his club this season.
