The Columbus Crew has solidified their commitment to success by extending the contract of Cape Verdean international Steven Moreira until 2025.
The decision underscores the club’s dedication to maintaining a formidable roster and building on recent achievements.
Steven Moreira, a former Toulouse player, made his debut with the American club in the summer of 2021 and swiftly established himself as a linchpin in the three-man defense under the strategic guidance of French coach Wilfried Nancy.
With an impressive track record of 2 goals and 15 assists in 82 appearances, Moreira has proven to be a reliable and influential asset for the Crew.
Tim Bezbatchenko, the sporting director of the Columbus Crew, expressed his delight in securing Moreira’s continued commitment to the team.
Recognizing Moreira’s leadership qualities and on-field contributions, Bezbatchenko emphasized the player’s loyalty and reliability since donning the Black & Gold.
“We are delighted to announce that we have re-signed Steven to a new contract. Since joining the Crew, Steven has been a loyal and reliable asset to the club, demonstrating his leadership, skills and tenacity from the time he wore the Black & Gold.
His work ethic on and off the field serves as an example to his teammates and shows how much he values his bonds with our supporters,” stated Bezbatchenko.
As the Columbus Crew looks to the future, the contract extension of Steven Moreira serves as a testament to the club’s commitment to continuity, excellence, and the pursuit of further achievements on the soccer field.
