Nigerian left-back Taye Taiwo, who currently plays for Dynamo Kyiv, is hopeful of being included in the Super Eagles squad for the 29th African Cup of Nations (CAN). Taiwo, who last featured for the national team in February during a match against Rwanda, expressed his desire to participate in his fourth CAN. He had previously played in the 2006, 2008, and 2010 tournaments. Currently on loan at Dynamo Kyiv, the 27-year-old defender has accumulated 54 caps for Nigeria, scoring 5 goals. The final decision on the squad selection will be made by coach Stephen Keshi toward the end of December.
