After two seasons at AS Monaco, Claudio Ranieri’s tenure as the club’s head coach has come to an end. The announcement was officially made by Vadim Vasyliev, the sporting director of the Monaco-based team.

Vasyliev praised Ranieri’s contributions to the club, acknowledging his successful stint which saw Monaco promoted from Ligue 2 to Ligue 1. Despite finishing second in Ligue 1 behind PSG, Ranieri’s position seemed to be untenable given the club’s ambitions and resources.

The decision to part ways with Ranieri was described as a necessary step to inject a new dynamic into the team’s performance. Monaco aims to adopt a more offensive playing style, catering to the preferences of their supporters.

As for Ranieri’s replacement, details remain undisclosed. However, Vasyliev hinted at the club’s desire to appoint a modern coach with an offensive vision of the game.
