Mauritania’s football leadership is optimistic about the national team’s chances of qualifying for the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers. After securing a victory against Equatorial Guinea in the first leg of the preliminary round, the team is gearing up for the return match.
The Mauritanian national team, led by coach Patrice Neveu, has traveled to Casablanca, Morocco, for a training camp. The team will undergo mental, physical, and technical preparations, including a friendly match, to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the crucial return leg scheduled for June 30.
In the first leg, Mauritania secured a narrow victory with a lone goal scored by Ismael Diakhité, giving them a slight advantage going into the second leg.
