King Pelé, the special advisor to the organizing committee for the upcoming World Cup, has expressed his frustration over the delays in preparations for the tournament. The Arena Corinthians, scheduled to host the opening match between Brazil and Croatia, has not been completed just three weeks before the World Cup kicks off.
In an interview with Sport Bild, Pelé voiced his concerns, describing the delays as unacceptable. He emphasized that Brazil had ample time to prepare for the event, and the delays are a cause for concern.
Pelé also commented on the impact of anti-globalization protests on the World Cup. He noted that 25% of foreigners who planned to attend the event have canceled their trips due to the ongoing demonstrations.
Despite his strong words, it remains to be seen whether Pelé’s comments will have any impact on speeding up the preparations for the World Cup.
